As a health and wellness enthusiast, I’m passionate about good nutrition. I know that blue-green algae are abundant in beneficial nutrients, but never realized that spirulina is the “creme de la creme” of the algae world.

In Tina Quick’s “Everthing…” book, I found an exhaustive list of nutrients that does a body good. Besides the abundance of minerals and vitamins found in spirulina, I learned about its variety of amino acids and enzymes, so critical to our optimum health. And its protein content is higher than I expected.

Its detoxifying effects can help relieve many digestive and related ailments, as the author’s research reveals. And spirulina may help with weight loss. A win-win combination!

In addition to 10 recipes to consume spirulina are tips to use it externally, things I didn’t imagine. And the author’s Q and A section help answer questions many may have. Overall, an informative and eye opening read about the many benefits of spirulina, the “King” of the algae world. Recommended!
